This is the very first cycling route I made when I came to Spain to meet my parents-in-law, is not big deal and is perfect for families since is very easy to do it. Also, you'll find some beach bars in case you are thirsty or the hot is just too much for you.
This is a very simple cycling route around the coast of Benidorm, we mainly followed the waterfront. We did it a couple of times along the summer in order to search the perfect spot in the beach.
It's only 12 km long and suitable for the whole family. However, if you are doing it in summer, I recommend you to do it in the early morning or in the late afternoon, since hot can be horrible and there may be a lot of people passing by, which makes it really compliated if you just want to enjoy a ride on your bike.
It doesn't appear in the track, but from there you can easily reach both the aquatic park and the zoo for aquatic animal (of course), which will be a great reward for the kids.
This route is mainly to enjoy the whole family together, stop for a while, have some drinks at the 'chiringuitos', look at clothes in the stores by the promenade. Also, the nightlife is very good so is also nice if you want to enjoy a night out by taking your bike.
The richness and variety of the cuisine in Benidorm has developed thanks to the success and influence of our ancestors and other cultures, all of which have left their mark on the local gastronomy. As a result, the influence of international cuisine, culinary traditions inherited from the Arabs, the legacy of merchant mariners, as well as the typical cuisine of local fishermen and traditional dishes from inland areas, results in an extraordinary range of flavours, aromas, textures, and colours to suit all palates.
There are a lot of companies dedicated to bike rental in Benidorm, so we just picked one, Benidorm Cycle Hire, which has service 7 days a week and deliver your bike at the point you want. Another quite good company is TAO, since they have electric bicycles for the lazy ones.
Benidorm, such as many other large cities on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida are served by urban buses. Generally, information on routes and timetables is available from the main bus station (usually located in the centre of town) and on local bus stops. A plan of the bus routes is also often posted on the bus stop itself. Several bus companies operate out of the central bus stations. Be aware that routes, prices and timetables are subject to change.
The public transport coverage is much more widespread in the urbanised centres and is more sporadic in rural villages.
Most public buses are modern and air-conditioned.
